An Evening of Princesses and Fair Maidens

What's up everyone?

So this past week has been pretty boring. Nothing spectacular happened, like usual, but hey, that's life.

We did have Zone Conference however. That was still pretty boring, but both Elder Bindrup and Tripp were there, so we had fun.

Wednesday was a day filled with a lot of knocking doors, but if was alright since it was nice and sunny out. Then Thursday struck! It started clouding up, so that made me sad since all we've really gotten here is rainy weather. We did get to visit the Yanke family again. They're doing well and are remembering the stuff we teach them! Yay! What more can you ask for (Besides money, fame, power, chocolate, etc.)

Friday it was really wet :( . We did some knocking in the rain, and then prepared for Saturday night's ward activity. Saturday we cooked a lot of potatoes and had to go buy a lot of chickens because the Elders quorum decided to put on a dinner for the sisters in the ward/area. It was pretty fun. We did a medieval themed dinner with the young men doing a little play/tournament for the princesses hand in marriage. None of the sisters knew about the theme or such until they got there, and the two young women were really surprised when they got to be chosen to be princesses while all the other sisters were ladies. It was a fun night, and the Yanke family said they enjoyed it too.

Sunday was still really wet, and we had church. That about sums up that day.

Anyways, today is still really wet, so I'm not too thrilled, but I'll live (hopefully). Have a great week!

Happy Mother's Day!!!

How's life?

So it was Mother's Day yesterday. Hopefully you all took time to talk to your Mother. They did give you life after all. And most of them loved you.

Anyways, this week has been uneventful (still no Bieber) but things should start picking up soon. We did get some new investigators however. This lady came into the church on... Wednesday, I think. She decided if there were cars in the church parking lot, then she'd go in and ask for the missionaries to visit her family. Elder Merrill and I, with Wright and Tripp were in there, and we set up an appointment to visit her family. Turns out, she's been less-active for years and decided to come back. So now we are teaching her and her family. She has a husband, two daughters and a son. We'll see how that progresses along.

Monday was P-Day and I GOT TO VOTE! AND THEN THE CONSERVATIVES WON! HAPPY DAY! NAY! HAPPY WEEK! I was pretty happy about the results. Who has two thumbs and got to vote? This guy! I was pretty stoked about voting. I almost didn't get to though, because I am from another province, so they need proof of residence here, in Ontario. I tore up my apartment looking for the dang (I use this word to describe my feelings then. I was beyond angry because I couldn't find it, and the office couldn't send me a new one) thing. I found it in the nick of time though, and got to vote. :D

Tuesday, we knocked a lot of doors. It was boring, but hey, knocking doors usually is. We also stopped at Chevy to get our car remote fixed because someone broke it. Not cool.

Wednesday we had district meeting, and that's when Heather Yanke showed (that's the lady's name). Then I got to spend the day in the hospital with Elder Wright! Brings back good memories of our time together in Windsor. Unfortunately for me, preschool tv was on, and 2 and a half hours of that and "You're watching Treehouse!" can really make someone want to destroy the tv. Luckily there were newspapers and magazines, so I didn't have to watch the madness. My kids are growing up on 'Chuck' and 'Glee'.
Then after that, we taught this former investigator but turns out she only met with us to ask how we buried people in the church. She heard that we burn people from their toes up. Weird.

Thursday was weekly planning, and then we got to meet the Yanke family. The lesson went well, and they seemed attentive. So we are going back for dinner this week and another lesson. We'll see how that turns out.

Friday was a lot of driving. We used up 200km! Omigosh. I was not happy. We went to Clinton to visit a few members there, then we went up to Blyth to visit the Less-Active. I accidentally called and started this whole thing. Turns out he moved to another town, so we had to drive all the way to Hensall. He was a pretty neat guy, but after learning all of the km we used, I was not a happy camper (We only get a certain amount of km a month).

Saturday... What happened Saturday? Truthfully, I can't remember. That's ridiculous. It was free comic book day! But there are no comic shops in this city. Boo.

Sunday was Mother's Day (Duh.). We went to church like good little missionaries, then we had lunch and did some finding. Elder Merrill got to talk to his family, then we had dinner. I got to talk to mine. It was good. I really enjoyed getting to talk to them. It wasn't long enough though. Now I have to wait for Christmas.

Anyways, that's it for this past week. Hopefully your next week will go well, and hopefully mine will too!

Peace!

Stubbs

PS Omigosh! Lakers lost! Dang! I think either Chicago or Miami will take it this year. We'll see what happens!

Alright....Who is Hiding The Investigators?

What's up people?

So I thought I saw Justin Bieber the other day, but it turns out is was just some girl with his haircut. There's actually a website all about that. Weird, huh?

So not much has happened this week. We played basketball last Monday (I think I already mentioned that). Then on Tuesday we had a little meeting with the zone while people waited for their interviews with President Brower. I'm not being sent home, so it looks like he's pleased with my work (or just tolerating me. I can't tell.) We didn't get home that night until around 7, where we met with a less-active dude who clearly wasn't interested in coming back to church. Or at least that's what we got. He spoke really quickly, then would laugh really loudly randomly, and he was a little hard to understand. Kind of reminds me of my sister.

Wednesday I was feeling pretty sick. Ugh. Not much happened that day. Thursday was weekly planning. Zzzzzzzzzz. It was quite boring.

Friday... What happened Friday? I can't really remember. That sucks, but then I guess it shows that nothing interesting happened that day. Same with Saturday. Saturday was really boring. Sunday was Stake Conference. Everyone said it was really good. I wasn't paying much attention. Okay, I actually did and some of the talks were pretty good, but for the life of me, I cannot remember what was spoken there. I guess that's why I saw so many people taking notes. Oh well. Then we had lunch at the stake center and I got to sit with Elder Kilmer (he missed me so much. He always said go away, but that really meant, "I missed you" (MTC companion)) and I got to talk with Elder Barber, our English Zone Leader. He's pretty cool and Tripp and I love making fun of him and the English. He loves us though.

Anyways, that's really all I've got for today. Hopefully everyone's week is going well! Have a great one!
