One Baptism Coming Up!!! :D

What's up people?

So this week hasn't been too exciting except the fact that I sprained my ankle last Monday. We were playing bball when Elder Belhira (new missionary from the Philippines. Really short.) got under me, and I fell on him. Then on my ankle. Dang those Asians and their size. I couldn't walk on it for a few day without there being loads of pain. When I went on travels to Woodstock, I got to go with two other missionaries, and we decided I'd sit in the park all day and phone people, while they knocked on doors around the park. It worked. I went through all of their former investigators over the past few years (a lot), and then all of the less-active members on their branch list (again, a lot). It was a pretty good day though. I actually had more success than them tracting. Boo-frickin'-ya.

Anyways, what else has happened? We had interviews with President Brower, and when Sister Brower saw my ankle, she said too many missionaries were getting hurt from bball and she wants to ban it. If my ankle hadn't been hurting so much, I would have gotten on my knees and begged her not to. I still begged, but without being on my knees, which doesn't have the same effect. Oh and guess what else. I was talking to Elder Belhira (Phillipino) and he doesn't know Elder Laceste (another Phillipino). Weird how? And they both live in Vancouver. You'd think they'd know each other because most Asians run in a tight group. I told them that, and they thought it was funny. Oh well. They know each other now.

So we with met Emily along with the Kimballs (senior missionary couple) and she has committed to baptism on the 14th of August. So that's good. Yankes still haven't committed yet, but they are close. Church was good and they all enjoyed it too.

So guess what? Nope. Wrong. Transfer calls where last night, and I am staying in Stratford with Elder Merrill. Mixed feelings here. This will be our fourth transfer together, but I'm glad I'm staying in Stratford for awhile.

Anyways, that's life here in Bieber city. Hope yours is good too! Have a great week!

I'm Back!

Hey everyone, how's life?

So sorry for not writing the past few weeks. A few things came up that we are trying to get organized, so I didn't get much time to email. We're still working it out, but I've got more time today.

So anyways, life here in Stratford has been fairly uneventful. I can't really think of much that has happened here. It's been too hot and humid and our air conditioner broke down. We got a new one today, but we weren't allowed to spend over $120 for it, so we got this puny one. We'll see if it's any good.

What else has happened? I got to help set up for a wedding reception for the past few days. That took a lot of work, but it went well. Basically only Merrill and I, the senior couple and two other ladies really helped out. We just barely finished it in time for the reception, and then at the reception, I was busy running around helping out anyway I could, so I didn't really get a break or dinner. I wasn't feeling too great.

Sunday (yesterday) the Yankes came to church and the Branch President's daughter's baptism. It went well, except I decided to volunteer my services again (still feeling incredibly sick) and was running around helping out with the video presentation, then in and out of the kitchen with the food, then dishes (I did dishes at the reception too). I've done so many dishes in the few days. But I enjoyed helping out. Then when we got home (to a really hot apartment), I almost puked. Again. Being sick is not fun.

So anyways, there's not much happening here. Hopefully your summer is going well!

Hot And Humid

Hey everyone, how's life?

So life here in Stratford has been uneventful, but good. We have a new potential investigator named Emily who's already been to church twice and is interested in learning more. She's awesome, so we look forward to teaching her.

Also, it's been really hot and humid. Humid me no likey. Hopefully the rain today will break the heat and we'll have a break. Pray for me!

The Yankes are also doing well. They still won't set a date for baptism, but they enjoy learning the lessons and coming to church. They'll get baptized eventually. I may not see it though, seeing that transfer calls are next week. I'm kind of hoping that I get to stay.

Oh! Awesome story! I was on travels with the zone leaders and Elder Germann (Pronounced: Gir-men) and I decided to visit some less-actives. One we met was totally crazy! He started telling us about his angel teachers and that his sibilings are out to get him. Apparently his sisters hired a fortune teller/ Hoodoo witch to take control of his mind and forces his thoughts into others heads. Then he started talking in tongues. It was very... interesting. The dude is plain nuts, but we think that's because he probably has some mental issues. Oh well. It was actually kind of funny to see.

Well, besides that, there's not too much to report here. I hope all of you have a great week!
