Hey people,
So here I am, in the final week of my mission. It's funny, but at the beginning of your mission, you feel like this time would never come, and now, here it is. Crazy, huh?
So besides that, not too much has been going on here. I'll put down the most interesting happenings this week.
Really, there's not too much that went on this week. We had district meeting like usual, then we went out to eat at the sushi bar. It was pretty good, except they charged me $30 for Tripp and I. Each person costs about $11, then they added an extra tip because there were 7 of us. I thought gratuity tips were suppose to come into effect at 8! And then 13% HST. I tell you, I will be so glad for my 5% GST when I get home. Taxes are ridiculous over here! Also, PEC was cancelled because a girl here, aged 23, was marring a guy in his late 40's, early 50's. WE weren't invited, so we played Ping-Pong with Barry at the church.
Wednesday, nothing exciting happened. Just the usual. Thursday... I can't really remember Thursday. Friday we visited Marie like usual. We also read George the paper and such.
Saturday was by far the best day of the week. May 5th! You know why? Free Comic Book Day! One of the greatest holidays ever! Needless to say, Tripp and I went to town. Oh, and it was also my brother's birthday. He is serving a mission in Jamaica. Later, we got to shoot a bow and arrow for a bit, then the guy who owned that brought out his shot-gun. I really wanted to shoot it, but I resisted because we're not allowed. That put a damper on things.
Sunday, the usual came out to church, except Cortwright, the man who's been feeding missionaries for years, came, and was the first to get up in fast and testimony meeting. Two non-members got up that day actually. It was pretty good. Also, before church, Tripp and I went with Cortwright to his church because Tripp wanted to experience an Anglican church service. It was quite different. No music at all.
Besides that, nothing really to tell. I'll be home in a week and a half, and it's kind of weird to think about, so I'll leave it at that. Have a great week!
Stubbs
