What's up?
So It's been about a month since I've been gone. My companion, Elder Tingey, is a great guy, but he's a little hard to deal with. He literally talks to everyone we see, even if they are a block away and it's really out of our way. We got caught in a downpour of rain because we had to walk to Ancaster for a dinner appointment, and he had to talk to everyone. We ended up being late, getting all wet, and then he decides to double check their address, and we went to the appointment's brother's house! I tried ditching him there, but he caught up with me, phoned the appointment's house and had them come pick us up. The dinner appointment went really well though, and I taught a great lesson, and was able to relate the Plan of Salvation to the Lion King. So that was fun.
So far I haven't been stabbed, shot, beat or spat on, but there's still plenty of time. He's tried even teaching some satanic people AND prostitutes, the first being really freaky, then second just horrible. We also missed our bus because his teachings, and walking with full suits on in the humidity kind of sucks. We have one of the biggest areas in the mission field, yet we don't get a car. The smaller missions get cars! I'm still trying to figure out the logic behind this. And we can't use the bikes because my is broken, and has been for awhile, and the last Elders (Tingey and some Kelly dude) never went to get it fixed. Elder Tingey is a good guy though, and his heart is in the right place, but he's going to drive me crazy.
We actually have a baptism planned for July 11, but I don't think I can count it because it was planned either theday I got here, or the day before. I taught the kid once already though and I'm teaching him again Wednesday. His mom is a recent convert, so that's pretty cool. Other than that, much hasn't happened. We helped at the special olympics, which was pretty fun (it was just a giant soccer tournament), and I went to church the other day and met the ward, most of them are all older folks though. Other than that, much hasn't happened. Life still goes on, but hopefully I'll be home before we know it.
